Notes from the Cellar

Buon Giorno!  “La lista dei vini per favore.”

And what a wine list we have for you.  We recently partnered with Kennett Distributors to bring you some delicious Italian wines that I know you will love!  We have an incredible Vernaccia di San Gimignano from the vineyard of Cantine Bonacchi.  Known as the “Wine of Kings”, this classic Tuscan white wine is made of hand selected 100% Vernaccia and aged up to 6 months with a short time in French oak barrels.  The delicious flavors merge with accents of minerals and florals to produce a rich taste with a slight bitterish aftertaste for this classic Tuscan.  Also from Bonacchi is the Chianti Gentilesco.  This classic blend is made of premium hand-select 85% Sangiovese, 10% Canaiolo, and softenedwith 5% Malvasia del Chianti Nera and aged up to 9 months un-wooded.  This ruby red wine is very well balanced, tangy, fresh, and smooth, with explosive fruit and a wonderfully long, clean and persistent finish.  And be prepared for an unbelievable treat with the introduction of our very own “Private Label” wines from the Cantine Riondo De Valier Vineyards in Veneto, Italy.  This is going to be awesome, and I can’t wait to share them with you.

Let’s talk about wines for just a minute.  Don’t be afraid of them!  Wines are the perfect accompaniment to any occasion, whether it’s a wonderful dinner with perfectly matched selections, or just opening a bottle to enjoy on the deck as the sun sets.  A good wine sets the stage for a truly memorable event.  They don’t have to “break the bank” either.  More and more we are seeing consumers looking for value when it comes to wine, and there are a lot of really nice selections at very reasonable prices.  Yes, it’s true:  certain wines work very well with certain foods.  But drink what you like!  There are no “Wine Police” out there, giving out “tickets” for drinking the wrong things.  Read the labels and, if you find one you truly enjoy, look up their website and learn what you can about that wine.  It really enhances the experience.  I cordially invite you to join us for a glass of our featured wine and learn to savor every moment.  Salute’!
