Lodge has been casting iron in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, since 1896, and its Dutch ovens are the classic bare cast iron pot: heavy, even-heating, and ready to cook straight out of the box. This listing brings together three Lodge Dutch ovens so you can pick the size, and the line, that fits how you cook.
Every option ships pre-seasoned with vegetable oil and includes a matching cast iron lid. Cast iron holds heat for a long time, so it is ideal for searing, slow braising, simmering beans, and baking bread. With each use, the seasoning builds into a smoother, more naturally non-stick surface.
Choose your size:
- 2 Qt.: a compact pot for sides, small batches of beans, cobblers for two, and camp cooking.
- 5 Qt. with loop handles: Lodge's classic Dutch oven with a 10.25-inch diameter, sized for weeknight soups, stews, and no-knead bread.
- 5.5 Qt. Blacklock: from Lodge's Blacklock line, cast with thinner walls for noticeably less weight, and triple-seasoned for a better start out of the box.
Specs & details:
- Material: pre-seasoned bare cast iron (no enamel, no synthetic coatings)
- Lid: matching cast iron lid included
- Cooktops: gas, electric, induction, oven, grill, and campfire
- Care: hand wash, dry immediately, and rub with a thin coat of oil
- Made in: USA
Use it with: braises, chili, beans, soups, no-knead bread, cobblers, and campfire cooking
The standard Lodge sizes are the best value in bare cast iron. If you lift your Dutch oven often, the 5.5 Qt. Blacklock costs more but is lighter in the hand. If you prefer an enameled interior for tomato sauces and wine braises, see our Le Creuset Dutch ovens.
Bare cast iron improves with use, building a smoother seasoning layer with every meal instead of wearing down like a coated pan.
Hand-selected by our Greenville team for cooks building a kitchen that works as hard as they do. Available for local pickup at our Buncombe Street shop.
Q: What sizes are available?
A: This listing includes a 2 Qt. Dutch oven, a 5 Qt. Dutch oven with loop handles, and a 5.5 Qt. Blacklock Dutch oven.

Q: Is it pre-seasoned?
A: Yes, every Lodge Dutch oven ships pre-seasoned and ready to use.
Q: Can I use it on induction or a campfire?
A: Yes. Bare cast iron works on every cooktop, in the oven, on the grill, and over a campfire.
Q: How do I clean it?
A: Hand wash with hot water and a little soap if needed, dry right away, and rub in a thin layer of oil. Avoid the dishwasher and soaking.
